The best place to start any tour of Israel is with the story of Abraham in the Judean Desert.

This Jerusalem travel idea will be most enjoyable for kids that have learnt of Abraham from the Old Testament, as at Genesis Land Abraham will be your host!

This is an amazing attraction. We were taken by camel ride to Abraham's tent. There was a time of story telling and fine Israeli food.

A magical place, experience life as it was in biblical times. We were are greeted by Eliezer, Abraham's manservant, and we rode on camels down to Abraham's tent, overlooking the Jordan Valley, Jericho and Genesis Land.

Loved it. Very fun for the kids, we got to ride the camels twice, learned some history, got hot tea and dries food, and finally made pita bread!!

Our daughter got married at Genesis Land ( Eretz Breishit!) on a Thursday evening in June just 6 weeks ago: The views are spectacular, the location of the hupa is unique, and Eli the manager was extremely helpful and flexible in ensuring the success of the event -- including, at our special request, top-notch Vegan food for all...

This is super corny, but my family and I had the greatest time riding camels and eating with Abraham! The food was excellent and the view is incredible. Well worth the experience.

If you want to do something really different try this tour. You ride a camel approximately 1/2 and go back in time. A biblical character greets you like you are back in biblical time. We made pita bread and baked it. Then had a wonderful leisurely lunch eating with our hands on the floor surrounded by pillows. The kids played with the sheep -- or perhaps I should say that the children chased the sheep as they tried to coral them -- I don't know who was more tired - the sheep or the kids! Wonderful photo opportunities.

The entire family gets to experience a little taste of life in the desert as well as a little bit of the hospitality that Biblical Abraham was known for. A brief review of the biblical text comes to life when described at the exact site where it originally occurred thousands of years ago. A brief camel ride is a bit..

Fun camel ride and dinner with Abraham. The food was plentiful and good. One of the favorite activities of my daughter's. We were a family group of 10, grandparents and 2 families ages between 11 and 19. Everyone rode the camels. I would recommend the experience.

Since we were on a fairly whirlwind trip and we wanted a 'quick' camel ride, this was a great option. The staff were efficient, and very friendly, like they were good friends, they were very safety conscious and honestly, you couldn't ask for a better back drop for a camel ride this close to Jerusalem. This is a must do if you are visiting Israel, we didn't participate in the re-inactment or pita making due to time limitations, but we sure wish we could have! We proudly left with our camel driver's license with our names written in Hebrew, a lovely touch, even the staff member at the gift shop was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would go again next time we visit.

From the camel ride on obviously well cared for camels, to the costumes for everyone and the story telling, then to the fabulous views from the tent where you eat a delicious authentic meal - as much as you like - topped off by spotless toilets and a great souvenir shop. Good for all ages.
